Chief James Craig Responds to Michigan Democrat Party’s Attack on Parents
“As I’ve consistently said throughout this campaign, parents are the true stakeholders when it comes to their children’s education.
Some in Gov. Whitmer’s party are continuing the trend of Democrats across the country who want parents taken out of the equation in educating their own children. It’s disgraceful and demonstrates that they have an agenda of indoctrination, not education.
Further, some in Whitmer’s party believe that taxpaying parents, who are not happy with their local public school, ‘have the option to send their kids to a hand-selected private school at their own expense.’
Parents that expect more out of their local public school and hold them accountable should not be told to get out their checkbook and hit the road. They have already opened their checkbooks by paying their taxes and deserve a high-quality education for their children.
Make no mistake, some in the Michigan Democrat Party, under Gov. Whitmer, want to take even more control away from parents and give it to the government.
As governor, I will never turn my back on the parents of our state. I will be there to support them and their children.”
